Tug Tender Calshot Club
The Tug Tender Calshot Club exists to support the Trust set up to ensure the future of the Calshot. The Club achieves this by assisting financially through their subscriptions, by helping to maintain and restore the vessel, and by fostering an interest in heritage and naval history.
Membership
On joining the member will receive a Membership Card, which during its validity entitles the member to visit the Calshot at her berth in Southampton, by prior arrangement. The member will also receive the latest edition of the Club's quarterly newsletter. For International members the newsletter will be supplied by email.
Involvement
Being a member does not mean that you have to carry out some restoration. Your moral and financial support is just as important. However, should you wish to become involved, the Tug Tender Calshot Club gives you the opportunity to assist voluntarily within various areas of the restoration programme. These may include:
General support - a pool of willing volunteers for occasional duties
Maintenance/Restoration - restoration of the vessel, skilled/unskilled help required
Public Relations - Fundraising, raising public awareness
You do not need to have any experience on boats or ships, help from all quarters is needed and appreciated.
Some of the Benefits:
Access to Calshot at her current Berth in Southampton Docks, on special occasions
Discounted entry to other Museums and Heritage sites
